ClicData, Google Analytics and dynamic segmentation

Hi there!

Last week we attended MeasureCamp Paris, France where we had the amazing opportunity to meet up with Web Analytics experts from around the world.

For those of you who don’t know, MeasureCamp is an event that has been spreading like wildfire in the last couple of years. The concept it pretty simple: gather professionals who are passionate about web analytics and allow anybody who is attending to host a session about a topic related to Web Analytics.

Every participant has access to a huge board where they can directly book a room with a topic. People then come & go as they wish. It is dynamic, it is very interactive and it is awesome.

I had the opportunity to animate a discussion about data visualization and to be honest, I did not expect the room to be full… and it was, pretty impressive for a first paticipation!
Measure Camps happen everywhere, if you wish to join one close to you, check their website, you will definitively learn a thing or two.

Now Back to Google Analytics!

As we were attending a conference about Web Analytics, it was the perfect time to show a brand new feature that has been requested by many of our users using the Google Analytics connector: Dynamic segmentation. (a big thanks to @Dquargnul and @nicolasmalo from @OptimalWays for taking an active part in its realization)

Until now, you could only import & apply pre made segments created from GA to ClicData. But that defied the purpose of being able to manage everything related to your data directly from within ClicData.

As such we added the possibility for our advanced users to dynamically create segments in the Google Analytics Data import screen.

You can then name the segment and it will be automatically saved in your ClicData account, ready to be used again on another website.

This feature is available to our Enterprise subscribers, but don’t worry if you want to try it out before paying, you can always ask for a free trial and let us know what you think!

Happy Dashboarding!
