ClicData generates the query locally. Only the query travels, not your data.
AI Analytics Built Into Our Platform
Not Bolted On
AI Dashboard Builder - Your dashboards with a simple prompt
Just using plain English.
Ask AI in your Dashboards
A franchise operations manager can type "which locations missed their labour cost target last week?" A sales lead can ask, "Which deals are at risk based on the last activity date?" The AI queries only the data you have scoped; nothing outside that boundary is accessible, and nothing is transmitted externally.
Security is set per dataset. The widget knows the limits you define. Your users get self-service answers; your data team fields fewer ad hoc requests.
Charts that write their own summary
Narrative analytics
Instead of just displaying the charts the way you feel it should be shown, natural language descriptive analytics can be integrated into your dashboard widgets to summarize and explain the visualization.
The tone, detail and level can be adjusted via pre-prompting to suit your user base.
Natural language queries right from your Data Tables
"What were my top five revenue sources last quarter, broken down by region?" The AI writes the query. You see the answer. If you want to refine it, add a filter, change the date range, add a dimension, type the follow-up, and the AI holds the context from the previous question.
For data analysts, this cuts the setup time on exploratory work. For business users without SQL skills, it eliminates the need to rely entirely on the data team for straightforward questions.
Build formulas in seconds
AI formula builder in Data Flow
"30-day rolling average of daily orders, excluding weekends and public holidays." The AI builds it. You review, apply, and move on. No documentation lookup, no trial and error with a broken formula.
It works for straightforward calculations and for complex multi-step transformations. If the first output is not quite right, describe the adjustment, and it will be rewritten.
Your data stays in your environment
How Different Teams Use It
| Who | The situation | What they use |
|---|---|---|
| Data Analysts | Spends hours on exploratory query work before the actual analysis can start. | Type questions into the Insights module. AI generates queries. Analyst reviews and refines exploratory work that used to take half a day, takes under an hour. |
| Operation Managers | Reviews dashboards each morning manually. Overnight anomalies go unnoticed until the next check. | Configures an AI Agent to monitor relevant KPIs in real time and send an alert when a KPI deviates outside the expected range. |
| Executive / Client stakeholders | Receives a dashboard with no context. Numbers visible, meaning unclear. | Narrative analytics generates a plain-English summary inside the dashboard. One read, no analyst needed to explain it. |
| SaaS Product Team | Customers ask for better in-product analytics. Building it internally would take months. | Embeds the Ask AI widget inside their product using ClicData's embedded analytics layer. Customers query their own data directly. |
Questions?
What AI features does ClicData include?
Five: the Ask AI conversational widget for dashboards, narrative analytics for automatic chart summaries, natural language queries in the Insights module, an AI formula builder in Data Flow, and AI Agents for automated monitoring and alerting.
Does ClicData send my data to OpenAI?
No. ClicData generates the query on its side and sends only the query structure to OpenAI, not your data. Your raw data stays in your environment and is never used for external model training.
Can business users without SQL skills use these features?
Yes. The Ask AI widget and narrative analytics are built specifically for non-technical users. They type questions in plain English and read plain-English answers, no query knowledge required.
What is AI analytics, and how is it different from standard BI?
Standard BI requires someone to build the query and interpret the output. AI analytics adds a layer that handles both: it generates the query from a plain-English question and explains the result in context. This is what AI in business intelligence means in practice: the decision-maker gets the answer directly rather than going through an analyst.
Are AI features available on all ClicData plans?
AI features are available on paid plans. Some capabilities, including AI Agents, may require a higher-tier plan. See the Pricing page or book a demo to confirm what is included in your specific plan.
How does AI in ClicData differ from using a standalone AI tool like ChatGPT for data analysis?
A standalone tool requires you to export data, paste it in, and work outside your BI environment. ClicData’s AI operates directly on your live, connected datasets within the dashboards your team already uses, with the same access controls and permissions in place.
What is AI analytics?
AI analytics is the application of machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI to data analysis. In practice, it means two things: getting answers faster and making data accessible to people who do not build queries for a living.
In a business intelligence platform, AI and data analytics come together when the tool can interpret a plain-English question, run the right query against your data, and return an answer without a developer in the loop. That is the layer ClicData has built directly into its platform.
The difference from a standalone AI tool is important. With a standalone tool, you still have to export the data, manage a separate login, and reconcile the AI’s output with what your dashboards are showing. With AI for data analytics built into your BI platform, the answer appears in context, in the same view where the decision is made.
