Visualize data in maps using Microsoft GeoFlow

By Telmo Silva on April 14, 2013

We love visualization and when new tools come out we look at them to give us ideas on how to incorporate new visualization widgets in ClicData.  Microsoft has released a preview of GeoFlow, an Excel visualization plugin which is absolutely awesome.  Mapping data to maps is so cool (although results are most times less surprising, i.e. more population = more of whatever you are measuring) it is very well done.

But even cooler than just simple value mapping to geography, you have the actual Bing Maps layers PLUS a time machine where you can view data by date and have a movie made with the resulting animation.

A new era of visualization is on its way and ClicData will be part of it as we too will add new features like those above as the web catches up to the personal computer and native applications.  But if you really love Excel, no worries, you will be able to connect with Excel to all your data in ClicData as easy as opening an Excel!
