Fast and Clean – Firefox Quantum

By Telmo Silva on November 17, 2017

Firefox version 57 “Quantum” is the newest version of Firefox boasting a huge performance increase and also importantly a lower memory usage compared to other browsers.

Chrome has served us well and so has Internet Explorer. Opera is still good and Safari always looks very nice too. But I am enjoying Firefox a lot more these days. The one thing that appeals to me the most is the fact that it is the only browser that does not have any interest in monopolizing the internet for their own profit or interest. Both Google and Microsoft have strong interests in tuning their browsers to work with their services but those interests are not always the direct benefit of the internet community.

But apart from any “conspiracy theories” I may be imagining, I just simply love the fact that it is fast, clean and usable. Sometimes that is all you need, an application that is fast, clean and usable.

It is good to know that this new version scores well in benchmarks although performance is at times subjective and dependent on many factors. Ultimately it comes down to the feeling and preferences on the UI.

The great news is that we tested Firefox 57 with ClicData and it works great! So give it a try and let me know what you think. Read more about Firefox Quantum here.
